Starting AGAMREE®

Talk With Your Healthcare Provider About AGAMREE

Preparation is the key to having a productive conversation with your healthcare provider. Consider taking notes on how your child is doing to help inform your healthcare provider during your office visit. Be sure to include questions you may have for your healthcare provider.

Some tips that might help you better talk with your healthcare provider:

Keep a journal of your child’s symptoms, especially those that might impact daily activities

Note timing, for instance when symptoms first appeared, how they progressed, and how they are changing or have changed since your most recent visit

Take photos or videos to help you communicate changes in behavior or muscle strength and function

Keep track of previous and current specialists to help your healthcare provider be aware of the total care team

Document previous and current treatments, and any side effects experienced

Keep a list of any questions you may have for your healthcare provider

  • What can be done to help manage behavioral and psychosocial health?
  • What are the next steps if strength or mobility decline?
  • What are the differences between corticosteroid options for Duchenne muscular dystrophy treatment?
  • What long-term or short-term symptoms can we expect from corticosteroid treatment, and how are they managed?
  • Why should my child stay on corticosteroid treatment even after loss of mobility?
  • How is bone health or scoliosis prevented or treated in Duchenne muscular dystrophy?
  • Are we eligible for the AGAMREE SUMMIT Study and what does it involve?

…when we ultimately decided to participate in the vamorolone trial, I felt like we had a say in what was happening. That the muscular dystrophy wasn’t controlling what was happening. We could do something about it and doing something that could help him.
